Sunday’s TT national champs was also part of the 2016 OCBC Cycle Road Series and a big turnout of competitors (and what seemed like just as many spectators) racing across 11 categories showed once again that there is a huge appetite for road racing in Singapore if events actually take place.
The atmosphere was festive, in big part thanks to a wide selection of Singapore cycling clubs erecting their team tents course-side. The weather also played its part in the event’s success with an early-hours storm clearing to leave dry roads, cool temperatures and hardly a breath of wind; perfect conditions for time trialling.
